I heard someone say today, "If your surrounded by darkness, maybe it's simply that you have your eyes closed"
There is part of a story in 2 Kings 6:16-17 "When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning,
an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh, my lord, what
shall we do?” the servant asked.
“Don’t be afraid,”
the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with
them.” (now to the physical eye Elisha and his servant were alone, just the two of them, surrounded by a real army of real men. Things look dark, in fact they appeared to be doomed, darkness seemed to surround them, but Elisha saw something his servant did not) And Elisha prayed,
“O Lord, open his eyes so he may see.” Then the
Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked
and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. (this was not a physical army, but God's army)
The servant's eyes were opened to the heavenly realm.
So I say to you, if you seem to be surrounded by darkness, if depression, or anxiety, or worry, or fear, or doubt seem to be a army surrounding you, if your surrounded by darkness in your life right now...it's possible that you simply have your eyes closed. As Elisha prayed for his servant so I pray for you..."O Lord, open his eyes so he may see, open his eyes so he may see into the heavenly realm, so he may see your vast army of angels all about him creating a safe passage, O lord, open his eyes so he may see You!'
