Judges 21:25
"In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as he saw fit."
This is the last verse of this book & although it may sound as if they enjoyed the Freedom of Choice, this is FALSE!
The truth is that if you read the book of Judges, you will soon realize that the Israelites' View of Things was VERY ERRONEOUS!
"EVERYONE DID AS HE SAW FIT!"
For this very reason they were always under some kind of oppression or bondage. Their life's frequently consisted of fear & bad choices.
The reason these situations kept reoccurring in their life's was: "THE LACK OF A KING IN THEIR HEARTS!"
The fact is that although Israel had no physical king, they had THE ETERNAL GOD AS THEIR KING, but many times they chose not to seek His Guidance & Protection.
Therefore their view would become BLURRED at this point & every decision they made after that moment was VERY ERRONEOUS!
All this to ask you a few questions:
Are you suffering from some kind of oppression?
Has bondage overtaken you?
Do you live in constant fear?
If you have second-guessed yourself with any of these questions, then there is a possibility that the Israelites weren't the only one's to commit this mistake!
A word to the wise:
"DON'T DO AS YOU SEE FIT, SEEK GOD & GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME!"
