Serve like Jesus!

Mark 10:45
"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."

"WE ARE CALLED TO SERVE!"

But let us clarify this statement;
"WE ARE CALLED TO SERVE JESUS!"
"BUT IN SERVING JESUS, WE WILL NATURALLY SERVE OTHERS!"

Jesus knows what is in our heart.
He knows that we all have a tendency to seek out what is beneficial for ourselves.
He also knows that sometimes in doing so, we tend to forget or even ignore the well-being of others.

But it is in these very moments that Jesus reminds us:
"SERVICE IS AN ACT OF SUBMISSION TO OUR HIGHER CALLING!"

Jesus came to serve as an act of surrender.
His Heavenly Father gave Him a mission to accomplish here on earth.
He willingly served those around Him because He knew His ultimate service was to His Father.
His service exemplified His submission to His Father's ultimate plan.

He was not concerned with "GETTING TO THE TOP!"
Instead, He was burdened with "HELPING OTHERS GET THERE ALSO!"

"HE KNEW WHERE HE WAS GOING & HE WANTED TO TAKE AS MANY WITH HIM AS HE COULD!"

In reflecting Jesus' example of servanthood;
"SURRENDER IS THE KEY!"
"SUBMISSION TO GOD'S ULTIMATE PLAN IS GROUNDS FOR SERVICE!"
"HELPING OTHERS GET THERE IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS REACHING THE TOP!"

"TODAY, LET US LEARN FROM JESUS & SERVE AS HE WOULD!"

Mark 9: 24

"Immediately the boy's father cried out and said, 'I do believe; help my unbelief." ~ (Mark 9: 24)

Lord, may we turn from the fear of that thing in our lives that we don't know how to handle. Without understanding, but desperate, we place {fill in the blank} in Your care and give You praise. Amen.

2 Samuel 24: 14

"I'm in a desperate situation!' David replied to God. 'But let us fall into the hands of the Lord, for His mercy is great. Do not let me fall into human hands."  ~ (2 Samuel 24: 14)

There are times of not understanding, despair, and desperation. Help us to recognize that sometimes a desperate heart is what You want us to have. Amen.
