The Church of New Thought

While driving recently my wife and I passed a Church called "The Church of New Thought" my question is this....in order for it to be a church of new thought, do you constantly have to come with new ideas? How long can a 'new thought' remain new?

A well known proven Christian Pastor and publisher of a international Christian magazine has recently changed positions on a few things. He says he wants to redefine marriage and make it gender-neutral. He also received funding a from pro-abortion, pro-atheism billionaire and allowed the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the world’s largest gay activist organization, to take out paid advertising in his magazine.
"The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons" ~1 Timothy 4:1~ The  Bible warns us in Colossians 2:8 "Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world and not according to Christ. In Hebrew 13:8 The Bible tells us God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

I don't know how someone falls away from God but I do know that pride, even in my walk, can certainly lead to it. Also, do not be deceived in thinking this could not happen to you and me, and this is why we need to remain humble before God. The word tells us in James 1:21, "...get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you." God is faithful to keep us but Jonah 2:8 tells, "Those who worship worthless idols FORFEIT the grace that could be theirs"

Not only do I not want "new ideas' the word of God warns me against them. Think I stick with what is tested, tried, and true.

The Bible...it's what's good for you!
