Jesus replied, "Are you not in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God?"
IT IS NOT ENOUGH TO MEMORIZE SCRIPTURE!
IT IS NOT ENOUGH TO RECITE VERSES!
IT IS EVEN WORSE TO TEACH OTHERS TO DO SO WHEN THERE IS NO POWER BEHIND IT!
"Discipleship is about teaching others how to live according to God's Power!"
But you must First be Connected to the Power Source!
In this verse, Jesus was directing this comment to a group of Sadducees.
This certain religious group was well known for their "Knowledge of Scriptures", but all this knowledge lacked Power because they never truly understood what the scriptures meant!
WHY?
BECAUSE THEIR TEACHERS DISCIPLED THEM IN ERROR!
ERROR LACKS POWER, BECAUSE POWER CAN ONLY COME THROUGH UNDERSTANDING!
These Sadducees were taught to memorize the attributes of God,
BUT WERE NEVER TAUGHT HOW TO EXPERIENCE THE POWER THAT FLOWS FROM THE SCRIPTURES!
I pray that we as Christians would not fall victim to this!
"DON'T JUST READ THE WORD OF GOD!"
"PRAY THAT GOD WOULD ALLOW YOU TO EXPERIENCE THE POWER BEHIND HIS WORD'S!"
"Then, go out & teach others to do the same!"
KNOWLEDGE IS ONLY BENEFICIAL, IF IT IS APPLIED CORRECTLY!
