Jesus called them together and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many."
"TO FOLLOW CHRIST IS TO BE TRANSFORMED INTO HIS IMAGE!"
"ANYTHING LESS RESULTS WHEN WE STRAY FROM HIS TEACHINGS!"
Notice that I did not say:
"WHEN WE ARE IN SIN!"
I said:
"WHEN WE STRAY FROM HIS TEACHINGS!"
Ignorance & lack of understanding are a very dangerous combination!
We fail to promote Christ, when we misinterpret His teachings!
In the verses prior, Jesus' disciple's had been offended by the actions of some of their very own.
They misunderstood Jesus' purpose here on Earth!
Hence, they acted out in ignorance, causing bitterness & separation.
They failed to grasp Jesus' teachings & began seeing themselves above everyone else!
"JESUS, BEING THE MASTER OF THE HOUSE, MADE HIMSELF THE SERVANT FOR OUR SAKE!"
"SHOULDN'T WE DO THE SAME?"
Lord, grant us Wisdom concerning Your Word!
May Your Holy Spirit guide us into all Truth!
May we represent You as Jesus did!
