A Good Name!

Colossians 4:7-9

"As to all my affairs, Tychicus, our beloved brother and faithful servant and fellow bond-servant in the Lord, will bring you information. For I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know about our circumstances and that he may encourage your hearts; and with him Onesimus, our faithful and beloved brother, who is one of your number. They will inform you about the whole situation here."

The Bible speaks of desiring a "GOOD NAME".

Here, Paul was entrusting 2 fellow-laborers of the Gospel with the mission of encouraging the hearts of the saints at Colossae.

They were entrusted because their reputations preceded them.

They had devoted themselves to the mission of spreading the Gospel.

They had dedicated their live's to the Lord Jesus Christ.

It had become so evident to Paul & all the church members at Colossae that Paul felt confident enough to believe that the church would accept Tychicus & Onesimus as they would Paul himself.

"Paul believed that the Colossians would receive these 2 men as they would Paul."

This statement says a lot about their character & devotion to the Gospel!

HOW ABOUT YOU?

WHAT DOES YOUR LIFE PROCLAIM TO THOSE AROUND YOU?

HOW ARE YOU PERCEIVED BY OTHERS?

DO YOU HAVE A REPUTATION FOR HOLDING A GOOD NAME?

DO PEOPLE THINK OF JESUS WHEN THEY THINK OF YOU?

ARE YOU SETTING THE BEST EXAMPLE POSSIBLE?

I will be the first to say that;

"IN MY LIFE, THERE IS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT!!!"

This is my prayer today;

"LORD, HELP ME GAIN A GOOD NAME!"

"NOT FOR ME TO HAVE A GOOD REPUTATION!"

"BUT FOR IT TO BE EASIER FOR OTHERS TO ACCEPT THE INFORMATION I SHARE ABOUT YOU!"
