James 1:2-8
"Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, being a double- minded man, unstable in all his ways."
Two things I feel that the Lord wants us to consider today;
"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously."
"But you must ask without doubting. If you doubt, then don't expect to receive."
1- "GOD WANTS TO GRANTS US WISDOM!"
But we must ask in humbleness of heart.
We must confess that we don't know how to resolve our issues.
We must denounce our limited thinking & submit to God's sovereign understanding.
"THERE MUST BE COMPLETE SURRENDER OR WE WILL NEVER REACH OUR FULL POTENTIAL!"
2- "WITH WISDOM COMES STABILITY!"
God desires to grant us whatever pertains to Eternal Life.
But we must be willing to trust God's judgment in every matter.
Our circumstances should never dictate our responses. (Our faith should!)
DOUBLE-MINDEDNESS:
The practice of holding two conflicting, separate ideas in our minds at the same time.
"WE WILL NEVER ADHERE TO GOD'S COUNSEL, IF WE ARE NOT CONVINCED THAT IS THE BEST COUNSEL!"
"WE WILL EVENTUALLY COMBINE BOTH & CREATE CONFUSION IN OUR OWN MINDS!"
"GOD'S WISDOM IS MEANT TO INSTRUCT US!"
"WHEN WE HEED GOD'S INSTRUCTION, IT BRINGS HIM GLORY!"
"BUT WHEN WE FAIL TO HEED, IT DECLARES TO THE WORLD, OUR DOUBT!"
Therefore when we ask, EXPECT, when we receive, REACT IN FAITH.
"GOD'S WISDOM IS INTENDED TO SUPERCEDE OUR LIMITED THINKING!"
