"But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving."
"HOLY PEOPLE!"
"HOLY STANDARDS!"
"HOLY LIVING!"
"GREAT REWARD!"
Do we fall short?
"YES!"
Should we make this an excuse to continue in said practices?
"NO!"
"FALLING IS ASSOCIATED WITH A PAINFUL EXPERIENCE!"
"THEREFORE, WE TRY TO AVOID ANY OCCASION OF FALLING!"
"THE SAME HOLDS TRUE WITH HABITUAL SIN!"
"HABITUAL SIN BRINGS ABOUT HARMFUL CONSEQUENCES IN LIFE!"
"SOONER OR LATER, THE EFFECTS WILL BE FELT!"
Here, Paul, was not condemning the church, but quite the opposite!
He was encouraging & challenging them to go deeper in their relationship with God by removing all the hindrances in their life & living a life of gratitude!
"A LIFE OF GRATITUDE = A FULFILLING RELATIONSHIP!"
"BE GRATEFUL & ENJOY FULFILLMENT IN CHRIST!"
"BE GRATEFUL BY BEING FAITHFUL!"
