"Zedekiah son of Josiah was made king of Judah by Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. Neither he, Nor his attendants, Nor the people of the land paid any attention to the words the Lord had spoken through Jeremiah the prophet.
King Zedekiah, HOWEVER, sent Jehukal son of Shelemiah with the priest Zephaniah son of Maaseiah to Jeremiah the prophet with this
message: “Please pray to the Lord our God for us.”"
Jesus said,
"But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?" (Luke 6:46)
These people were given ample opportunity to hear God's Word!
They were given plenty of warnings!
In fact, God even sent them a prophet!
"BUT THEY DID NOT PAY ATTENTION!"
"THEY DID NOT TAKE HEED!"
"YET, THEY EXPECTED TO RECEIVE THE BENEFITS OF OBEDIENCE!"
Jesus came & proclaimed liberty from a life of sin!
He taught us how to live, so that we won't have to die!
Through His teachings, we can learn how to handle our situations better!
Through obedience we begin to apply His teachings in our everyday life!
"But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?"
This scripture is not to condemn anyone, but to encourage everyone to:
"READ GOD'S WORD!"
"BELIEVE GOD'S WORD!"
"APPLY GOD'S WORD!"
Then eventually, you will begin to reap the benefits of obedience!
ENJOY YOUR DAY!
