You've heard it said, ""Glory to God and peace on earth" we'll that's not the full text. Luke 2:14 tells us, ""Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests."
"Glory to God" is not a wish or desire, but an affirmation to who He is, God's character.
"Peace on earth" is not a a physical peace or absence of war, but rather reconciliation with God and man.
Concerning "to those on whom His favor rests" we find the answer in Romans 5:1-2 "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand..."
Does God's favor rest upon you? Have you been reconciled back into a relationship with God as your Heavenly Father? If not, the peace you have been seeking is only found in one place, and that is in Jesus Christ.
