Stop & Think...

Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens
~ Psalm 68:19 ~
Without God daily bearing our burdens, the weight would crush us. Psalm 62:5-8 tells us, and our hearts confirms it, "Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; He is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge


Deuteronomy 3:24
"Sovereign Lord, You have begun to show to Your servant Your greatness and Your strong hand. For what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do the deeds and mighty works You do?"
An unsaved person can't see God, although God grants them every breath they take & every step they make.
GOD DESIRES TO BE KNOWN AS THEIR CREATOR!
WE, WHO HAVE BEEN SAVED, SHOULD DESIRE THE SAME!
IF NOT, THEN THERE IS SOMETHING LACKING IN OUR HEARTS & THAT SOMETHING IS CALLED "LOVE!"
This may sound harsh to the carnal mind, but it is to the spirit that this is spoken!

Fishers of Men



Matthew 4:19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

There are several elements of fishing. First off, you have to find the right spot. Then you have to have the equipment such as: fishing rods, luries, bait, etc. Then you have to make the effort and to cast the rod into the water. And once you get a bite you have to snag them and reel them in.

God has called every Christian believer to be a fisher of men/women/children.  We are all called to share the good news of the gospel ot Jesus Christ!  We work in parternship with God! Not only does the Lord provide the bait, He helps reel them in and after we make a catch, Praise the Lord that  He does the dirty work and cleans them up!

A teaching from brother George M'Lay in Milwaukee

In the old covenant, the emphasis was always on the external - "because of the hardness of men's hearts" (Matt. 19:8). The law emphasised cleanliness in the external. The new covenant, in contrast, emphasised cleanliness "inside the cup" first (Matt. 23:25,26). Jesus said in that verse (v. 26) that once the inside was cleansed, the outside would automatically become clean, so that there would be no need to clean the outside at all. One can see this clearly from Matt. 5:21-30. If one has cleansed his heart from anger, there would be no danger of his committing murder externally. Likewise, if he has cleansed his heart from sexually dirty thoughts, there would be no danger of his committing adultery externally. Clean the inside of the cup and the outside will automatically become clean.

Where the emphasis in many Church's today is primarily on the externals - avoiding cinema going, smoking, drinking, gambling and wearing ornaments etc., - such a church will only become an old covenant church! The way to get rid of external evils is not by concentrating on them first, but rather on the internal worldly attitude of mind which produces those external evils.

There can be no inward cleansing without self-judgment. It is impossible to build the church unless this inward cleansing is constantly preached. The Bible tells us to exhort one another daily in the church to avoid being hardened by the deceitfulness of sin (Heb. 3:13;10:25). Most Christian 'churches' have no interest in such preaching, except perhaps occasionally. Certainly not daily!. Hence they breed Pharisees with cups clean on the outside only. Here the bride of Christ must be different.

The emphasis in denominational Christianity is always on 'activity' - street preaching, house to house visitation, missionary work, etc. All this is good. But unfortunately it has taken the place of total obedience to God's word in the minds of most believers.

Jesus said that we were to teach all Christians to obey all that He had taught (Matt. 28:20). God requires obedience more than sacrifice (1 Sam. 15:22). It is a heathen concept that God requires us to go through various forms of physical suffering in order to prove our love for Him. This is very prevalent in the heathen culture and has unfortunately pervaded Christianity in general as well. Spirituality is therefore seen as giving up one's job and going out to some difficult place, undergoing various hardships, etc. All this may involve much sacrifice, but it can never be a substitute for obedience to God's Word.

Our love for Jesus is not proved by sacrifice, but by obedience to His commandments - as Jesus Himself said in Jn. 14:15. To obey everything that Jesus has taught us in Matt. 5-7 is a far greater proof of our love for Him than even giving Him 50% of our salary or giving up our job and becoming a missionary.

Denominational Christianity is clearly pictured in the restless activity of Martha (Lk. 10:39-42). She was sincere, sacrificial, unselfish and zealous in her service for the Lord in the kitchen. Yet the Lord rebuked her. Her spirit was sour and critical of her sister Mary, who apparently was not doing anything sacrificial for the Lord. Mary was sitting quietly at the Lord's feet, waiting to hear His word before doing anything for Him.

This is to be our attitude - not restless activity, but hearing what the Lord has to say to us and then obeying that - not doing what our own reason suggests, but doing the will of God. 

Jeremiah 17:5-6
"This is what the Lord says: "Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord. That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes. They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives."
One day, God, spoke softly into my spirit & said:
"SUBMI
T TO AUTHORITY, BUT FOLLOW ME!"
Truth be told, I was disturbed by this saying.
How could this make any sense?
Then, God, in His Infinite Wisdom & Mercy gave me the revelation, He said:
"GIVE TO CESAR WHAT BELONGS TO CESAR, BUT TO GOD WHAT BELONGS TO GOD."
He went on to say:
"ONLY RESPECT A PERSON'S AUTHORITY AS FAR AS THEY RESPECT MINE!"
"IF SOMEONE IS ABOVE YOU, OBEY THEM, AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T CONFLICT WITH MY TEACHINGS!"
All this to say:
"TRUST IN GOD, NOT MAN!"
"GOD ALWAYS WANTS WHAT'S BEST FOR YOU!"
"MAN MAY WANT WHAT'S BEST FOR THEM!"

I'm an Atheist...

Ever been out witnessing and had someone say as a response to the Gospel message, "I'm an Atheist" An Atheist is not someone who denies God, it is someone who believes or at least claims, there is no God. Well the next time someone tells you they are an Atheist, ask this question, "You believe There is no God?" When they answer yes you can tell them, "Did you know the words 'there is no God' is actually in the Bible?" Now that should get their attention and enable you to be engaged in a conversation, and it's true, just not quite in the context their speaking it. Psalm 53:1-3 tells us,
"The fool says in his heart, There is no God, they are corrupt, and their ways are vile..."
 

 
(Now before you get to prideful the rest of the verse says this) there is no one who does good. God looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. Everyone has turned away, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one"
Remember, before God opened your eyes, you too were evil and wicked in His sight. As Christians we should not get into arguments over the Gospel, we are to love people and gently correct them, the purpose of this is not to prove we're right and their wrong but rather allow the word of God and the Holy Spirit to convict.
A great follow up to Psalm 53:1-3 is 2 Corinthians 7:10 because it bring Hope as it tells us,
"Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret..."

Cost of discipleship




There is a price to pay for being a disciple of Jesus. We need put our own agenda's aside and to get on God's agenda. We need to pick up our cross not just on sunday's but every day of the week. Daily seeking Him, Daily in prayer, Daily in his Word, Daily following Him. Jesus calls many, but few make the choice to follow Him.

There is a remnant out there that hungers for God. There is a remnant out there that is willing to go, that is willing to do! Are you part of that remnant?

God is calling us to serve Him and to pick up our cross! I am not sure what that is going to look like, but we need to just trust Him!
Numbers 32:42
"And Nobah captured Kenath and its surrounding settlements and called it Nobah after himself."
In a world that only seeks Self-Recognition, we as Christians, are not to follow such a dangerous example.
The only thing we learn in God's Word about Nobah is that he desired to be recognized. He got his recogniton, but after that, NOTHING!!! He is NEVER mentioned again!!!
MOSES, JOSHUA, PETER & PAUL, on the other hand, continuously resound because they had SELFLESS-PURPOSE!
"IF YOUR PURPOSE IN LIFE IS TO MAKE A NAME FOR YOURSELF,
YOU MAY ACCOMPLISH IT, BUT IT WILL SOON FADE, NEVER TO BE RAISED AGAIN!!!"

God's Will....or...Your Will?

How are you fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how are you cut down to the ground, who did weaken the nations For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

Five times Lucifer said ..."I will"  
PRIDE
 
How many times per day do we say (not out loud but in our hearts), "I will" or in other words
"No, I want to do it my way"  
God says, "do no hate"...we say "No, they offended me, I will do it my way"
 
God says, "Spend time with me in prayer"...we say, "no, I want to watch T.V. I will do it my way" 
 
God says, "Go talk to that person"...we say, "No, that would be uncomfortable, I will do it my way"
 
God says, "Go help that person"...we say, "No, that would inconvenience me, I will do it my way"
 
God says, "Be slow to speak & quick to listen"...we say, "No, I will do it my way"
 
 
 Jesus said "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done." Luke 22:42 And he said unto them, How is it that you sought me? knew you not that I must be about my Father's business? Luke 2:49 (Humility)
  
 We see in Jesus that true humility is not just a reverence to God it is also obedience!

Not my will...but Yours!
 
James 4:6 But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble...
 
 
 


When in dought, you can do without!




James 1:5-8 " If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.A double minded man is unstable in all his ways."

When we come to God we must not dought. Here is a saying that the Lord shared with me "When in dought, you can do without!"  We need to believe that God is who He says He is. God has given us all a measure of faith and it is not important the size of the faith but it is important what we do with the faith we have been given. 

We need to cultivate our faith, to fertilize it and water it.  Everyone wants to harvest faith, but they do not want to put in the work to grow their faith. Remember faith without works is dead.  Let me challenge you today to work on growing your faith, and exercing your faith. God bless you as you continue to put your faith in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!

No matter how you look at it...God had a plan in place for your life before you were even born! More than that, God has every moment of your life planned out. If He knows the beginning and the end, if He not only sees it, but actually planned it, don't you think it would be wise to completely trust Him with your life?

God, the creator of all things, the one who breathes life into every living creature, the one who sustains the heavens and the earth, who keeps the sun and the moon and the stars in place, this God...wants to share His plans with YOU!
 
The word confide though, means much more than just share, it literally means "to entrust; to commit to the charge of, with a belief in the fidelity of the person entrusted; to deliver into possession of another, with assurance of safe keeping, or good management; to believe in, with assurance"
 
In other words, if you will humble yourself before God showing proper fear and respect, He in turn will make His plans for salvation know to you, but more than that, He will give you all the details and secrets of His plan, trusting and believing in you to carry them out. God is trusting you to keep safe His promises, to guard them, and to follow them. He is GIVING YOU his covenant. (deliver into possession of another) Guard it with all your heart!

Loving people other than just our friends and family...

   Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.,
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. ~ Matthew 6:11-13 ~

Jesus taught us to pray, "Give us ... Forgive us ... Deliver us ..." (Matt. 6:11-13). A sanctification that does not give us a concern for others who are still in their sins and need, is a worthless counterfeit that is fit for only being thrown into the garbage bin.
 
We need to re-orient our way of thinking ('renew our mind' Rom. 12:2) so that we put ourselves 'in the shoes of others' and try and understand what they are going through. This is Christ-like thoughtfulness that prepares us to inherit the coming kingdom. One who thinks only of his own and his family's need, however 'holy' he may be, is only deceiving himself if he thinks that he is ready for Christ's coming

In Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus deals here with our attitude towards our fellow believers in need. That need may be spiritual or physical.

Here we see that some inherit the kingdom because they served their fellow believers as unto the Lord. Their service was so much in secret that their left hand did not know what their right hand was doing (Matt. 6:3). So much so, that when the Lord reminds them of the good that they did, they do not even remember it! (Matt. 25:37-39 ).

Jesus also taught here that any service that we do to the least of His brothers is considered as service done to Him (Matt. 25:40). It is significant that He speaks of the least here, for our tendency is to serve the most important believers and to ignore the poor and the despised! Those who are occupied with eating and drinking, buying and selling, and building and planting for themselves alone, will certainly be left behind when Jesus returns (Lk. 17:28,34).

Only those whose service for the Lord involved a loving concern to serve their fellow believers will be taken up. In another passage, Jesus spoke of another group of people - who are a contrast to this group. These are the ones who remember all the good things that they have done in the name of the Lord. They are also at the judgment seat, and they remind the Lord that they have expelled demons, preached, healed the sick in Jesus' name, etc. But they are rejected by the Lord, even though they did all these things, because they lacked the very first requirement, of a hidden life of holiness before God. They were taken up with the greatness of their gifts.

It is interesting to see the contrast.

Those who healed the sick are cast out (Matt. 7:22,23). But those who merely visited the sick inherit the kingdom! (Matt. 25:34,36). God does not ask us to heal the sick if we have not been given the 'talent' of the gift of healing. But we can visit the sick and encourage them and bless them in the name of the Lord. We shall then find that we are ready for Christ's return, while many who healed the sick are left behind! To serve others in this way, we have to be willing to be inconvenienced.

Those who never want their daily plans to be disturbed by interruption from needy people will certainly be left behind when Jesus comes. We have to sacrifice time, money, and above all, our own plans and our will, if we are to serve others in the name of the Lord.

Selfishness is so rooted in our flesh that even when we have cleansed ourselves of the sins of lusting with our eyes, anger and covetousness, it is still possible to live just for ourselves. There can be a holiness, like the holiness of the Pharisees, which is occupied only with ourselves, and which does not deliver us from self-centredness. This is a counterfeit of the true holiness; yet it is easy to be deceived by it.

Jesus taught us to pray, "Give us ... Forgive us ... Deliver us ..." (Matt. 6:11-13). A sanctification that does not give us a concern for others who are still in their sins and need, is a worthless counterfeit that is fit for only being thrown into the garbage bin.

Love People


Numbers 23:19

In a world that is full of fraud, schemes, fineprint, etc., it is good to know that God is still God.
"HE DOES NOT CHANGE!"

The KEY to life...

Let's pretend you are in the desert with nothing around for a thousand miles but sand. You have a vehicle that has enough gas to get you out of the desert but you dropped the key and can't find it. Even if you had a trunk load of money, silver, and gold, it would be useless to you, and it's to far to walk, the only thing of any value is that key. How hard would you search for the key? What if the sand was a little hot, would that stop you? What if you were hungry, would that stop you? With no other way out, is there anything that would stop you from looking for that key with intense passion? If you found it how much would you love and treasure that key?
Psalm 119 is a love letter to God's Laws. The author realizes His only hope is found in God's laws, mercy, and grace. Nothing else matters, nothing else can help him. The key to survival, the key to real happiness, the key to life...is God's commands. God's laws are not meant to weigh us down, they are given to us to bring life. Now, we can start to understand some of the authors words.
"The law from your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold...I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches...Teach me, O Lord, to follow your decrees; then I will keep them to the end... Give me understanding, and I will keep your law and obey it with all my heart.... Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight. Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain. Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word. Fulfill your promise to your servant, so that you may be feared. Take away the disgrace I dread, for your laws are good. How I long for your precepts! Preserve my life in your righteousness"
 
 
Are you lost, alone, broken down, hurt, hungry, thirsty? Humble yourself, pray, seek God's face, praise Him in the morning, thank Him in the evening, and search out God's commands with all your heart that you might obey them and live

To know God is to love God!





Matthew 22:36-40 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

To know God is to love God and to love God is to know Him. We need to encounter God in our lives in order to feel and see His love. We need to love the Lord with everything that we are and to love those that He loves. God loves the sinner but hates the sin. God has called us to love the unloveable. God has called us to love those that do not even like themselves. To love is to live and to live is to love. My prayer is that God would fill you with His love today!

Philippians 1:6
"Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
PERSEVERANCE IS THE KEY!!!
It doesn't matter how much you got on your plate.
It doesn't matter how critical your situation is.
The point is that:
"YOU GOTTA PERSEVERE!!!"
"GOD IS WITH YOU!!!"
"NOT BECAUSE, HE HAS TO, BUT BECAUSE HE WANTS TO!!!"

Teach me knowledge and good judgement...your promise preserves my life.

Before I was afflicted I went astray. But now I obey your word. It was good for me to be afflicted. I know Lord, that Your laws are righteous, and in faithfulness You have afflicted me. ~ Psalm 119:67,71,75 ~
It would be an unloving parent that gave their child every desire of their heart and never disciplined them. It would also be an unloving parent that never allowed their child to fall when learning to walk. The child would grow to be helpless, needy, selfish, greedy, and prideful, everything God despises.

 Proverbs 22:6 tells us,
"Train a child in the way he should go,and when he is old he will not turn from it"

 Know that God allows you to go through things because He loves you!

Called to Serve



1 Peter 4:10-10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

God has given each and every believer a wonderful gift. This gift may be prayer, evangelism, serving food, preaching, and/or teaching. Whatever your gift may be, use it to further God's kingdom, and not your own. God has called us to be His servants. Be encourage my fellow laborors as your work is not done in vain. While the works of the flesh will fade away, The things done for Christ will last for an eternity! God bless you as you serve the Lord Jesus Christ! Jesus is Lord!!
Numbers 18:7b
"I am giving you the service of the priesthood as a gift."
SERVING THE LORD IS BOTH AN HONOR & A PRIVILEDGE!
BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, IT IS GOD'S GIFT TO US!
THEREFORE, DON'T LOSE SIGHT OF THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE A PRECIOUS OPPORTUNITY TO DO WHAT MANY OTHERS CAN'T!
If God has called you to serve in the Body of Christ, then use your giftings to the best of your ability!

I have heard it said...

I have heard it said that "salvation is easy but sanctifiction is hard" Although I can appreciate what people are trying to say, or the message they are trying to relate, being that of  'Jesus died for you so all you have to do is believe in your heart and say this simple prayer' and although there is truth to that statement the fact remains 'salvation is easy' is not Biblical. To beleive in Jesus means to die to self and be raised with Christ. Death is never easy! 1 Peter 4:18 tells us,
"If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?"
 
Original Word: μόλις Phonetic spelling: mólis ("what barely happens") emphasizes the slight margin by which something comes to pass, i.e. because it is so difficult
Concerning sanctification yes the Bible tells us we will have much trouble in this world but Jesus in Matthew 11:28-30 tells us, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Personally I don't know anyone that truly came to Christ that didn't sufer much brokeness, brokeness is painful, and very difficult. Salvation is so hard in fact it took God Himself coming to earth in the form of man, taking our sins upon Himself, and dying on a cross. Let's not make light what Jesus did on that cross by good intentions. People need to know the truth, God sacrificed EVERYTHING and laid down His life for us, and we too must die. There's nothing easy about it.

Name it and Claim it...is it Biblical?

Against God's Will in 1 Samuel chapter 8 the people wanted a King to place over them so they could be like other nations. (verses 4-5) "all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah. They said to him, “You are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways; now appoint a king to lead us, such as all the other nations have.”
 
The Israelites named it and claimed it because they had a desire of their heart. Now it is true that God places desires in our heart, but if He has not specifically told you it's of Him there is a danger in naming and claiming something. You may have a desire that is not of God, and if you keep asking, Like the Israelites, He may just give it to you. 
 
(verse 8) the Lord told him: “Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king. In verses 10-18 God told Samuel to tell the people all they horrible things a King would do to them and cause them to go through. Their lives would become much more difficult, but they had a desire and said in verse 19 “No!” they said. “We want a king over us. They were going to name it and claim it.
 
(verse 21-22)When Samuel heard all that the people said, he repeated it before the Lord. The Lord answered, “Listen to them and give them a king.”  Terrible hardships followed.
Anything not of God will always end up in pain, struggle, and hardship. The Israelites learned the hard way, let us learn from their mistake, and find our example in Jesus when He said in Luke 22:42 Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done" Jesus had a desire for something too, but He knew better than to lean on his own understanding, instead he placed his trust in the Father. So instead of naming and claiming something, we would be better to be like our Lord and Saviour. "Father, if you are willing, yet not my will but yours be done" 
Mark 10:42-45
"Jesus called them together and said, “You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and t...
o give his life as a ransom for many.”"
HERE, JESUS IN HIS OWN LOVING WAY, EXPLAINED TO HIS DISCIPLES THAT THEY STILL HAD MUCH TO LEARN.
"They had been with Him long enough to KNOW that He was the LORD OF GLORY, but not long enough to UNDERSTAND that He CHOSE to be SERVANT TO ALL!"
HAVE YOU COME TO THAT REALIZATION IN YOUR LIFE YET?
HAS SERVING OTHERS BECOME A JOY IN YOUR LIFE YET?
Reality is that: "True Maturity in Christ is BEING SO SECURE IN YOUR HEADSHIP, THAT YOU DON'T MIND BECOMING THE TAIL TO HELP SOMEONE ELSE ACHIEVE THEIR HEADSHIP STATUS!"

"PRESUMPTION NOT ONLY DESTROYS NATIONS, BUT HOUSEHOLDS!"
Here the Israelites after being warned, decided they would go up to battle, expecting God to give them victory when He clearly SPOKE the opposite. THE RESULTS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES.
"HONOR IS GIVEN, WHERE HONOR IS DUE!"
"IF WE TRUST GOD IN HIS TIMING, WE WILL SOON LEARN THAT OUR CLOCK NEEDS TO BE ADJUSTED!"

More, More, More!!!!



We live in a society that is always thirsting for more. We need more technology, we need bigger and better homes, we need more money. More, More, More! However, the world has failed to realize that more things does not equate to more happiness. As believers, God is calling us to be a people that is content with what we have. When we get to this place, then we will truly have peace and joy (true happiness). I leave you with these verses:
 
Hebrews 13:5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."

 Phillipians 4:11-13 " I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
1 Peter 3:12a
"For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their prayer..."
STAND UP FOR THOSE AROUND YOU WHO CAN'T!
But that doesn't mean to go confront their oppressor.
THAT WOULD ONLY BRING ABOUT A TEMPORARY FIX.
"WE OFTEN FAIL TO REALIZE THE POWER OF PRAYER!"
Understand, if you just confront an oppressor, you may free the one you stood up for, but the oppressor remains bound to Satan's deceitfulness.
Instead, bring the situation to God, who holds NO BIAS in the situation & He will work out a means by which both the oppressor & the oppressed are set free.
"GOD DESIRES THAT NO ONE PERISH!"
"PRAYER PROVIDES A WAY FOR HIS DESIRE TO BE MET!"

Many times, we unkowningly try to pray "God's Will" out of our live's.
In our feeble understanding, we fail to see that many of the trials we face are God-Induced. "YES! GOD-INDUCED!"
Example: 'A parent takes a child to school for the first time, the child kicks & screams, not wanting to be left alone because they are scared & don't understand why their parent is doing it, although it will eventually benefit them in the long run.'
WE SOMETIMES DO THE SAME! BUT THE DIFFERENCE IS THAT WE ARE NOT CHILDREN! AT LEAST, WE SAY WE'RE NOT!
"Don't pray that God would remove the trials from your life, but that God would accomplish His intended purpose through them!"

Clogged Pipe????





We all dread having to call a plumber to come and fix a clogged pipe because we know that it is not going to be a cheap call. Sometimes, we allow the things of this world to clog our pipeline to God. We need to be searching our hearts and repent of those things that come in the way of our relationship with our creator. The bible says is 1 John 1:9 " If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

Ecclesiastes 7:8
"Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof..."

Bible Study and Prayer

First; studying the Bible without actually reading the Bible itself is a bleak and fruitless chore. Second; the student will only benefit from the Word of God in so far as he knows it and loves it.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth"- John 1:1,14
 (Jesus is the Word...You will only benefit from Jesus in so far as you know Him and love Him)
 
"...Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one, whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?" - Romans 10:13-14 (you cannot believe in what you don't know, you cannot call on a God you don't believe in, and how can you believe in a God whom you have not heard speak to you? Just listening to a sermon won't do it, a preacher is not God, but when he speaks the Word of God, that Word is alive, as the Word is Jesus Himself)
Read the whole Bible, read the Word of God, get to know God intimately. Also spend much, much time in quiet time of prayer, just being still in His presence, hear His voice as He speaks personally to you and you will fall in love with Him. Jesus had no sin to confess. Jesus had all the authority and power of God at His disposal. He needed nothing, and yet He snuck off often to spend time alone with God in prayer. Why? Because He wanted intimacy with His Father.
 
Above everything, above ministry, above evangelism, above Bible study, above sermons, above it all...Spend intimate time with your heavenly Father...if you do not, the rest will amount to little or nothing. Fall in love with Jesus and reading the Bible will be a blessing to you.

I'm gonna do something great for God!

After David was settled in his palace, he said to Nathan the prophet, “Here I am, living in a palace of cedar, while the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under a tent.” Nathan replied to David, “Whatever you have in mind, do it, for God is with you.” That night the word of God came to Nathan, saying:
"Go and tell my servant David, ‘This is what the Lord says: You are not the one to build me a house to dwell in. I have not dwelt in a house from the day I brought Israel up out of Egypt to this day. I have moved from one tent site to another, from one dwelling place to another. Wherever I have moved with all the Israelites, did I ever say to any of their leaders whom I commanded to shepherd my people, “Why have you not built me a house of cedar?” ~ 1 Chronicles 17:1-6 ~
For God's will...PRAY  PRAYoften.
 
With the best of intentions we can try to do things for God, but if God did not direct us to do it, we are wasting our time, energy, and resources as it will never do any good for His Kingdom. Psalm 127:1 tells us, "Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain"
 
  Moral of the story...
 
Even in Ministry, if God ain't in it, you shouldn't be either!
 


Although 'CHANGE' is not a person, it has the qualities of an individual.
It only comes when INVITED!
It only remains when EMBRACED!
But most importantly,
It offers a brighter tomorrow & a better life!
"EMBRACE CHANGE & EMBRACE LIFE IN CHRIST!"
"THE CHANGE THAT COMES THROUGH CHRIST IS MEANT TO IMPROVE YOU, NOT IMPAIR YOU!"
Jonah 4:11
The Lord said to Jonah, "But Nineveh has more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left, and many cattle as well. Should I not be concerned about that great city?"
Prior to this passage, Jonah was hung up over some vine that only benefitted him, so, God corrected his way of thinking.
GOD OPENED JONAH'S EYES TO THE LOST SOULS OF A CITY!
The point is:
"IF WE ENTER INTO A 'TRUE CONVERSATION' WITH GOD,
HE WILL FIRST, RE-ORGANIZE OUR PRIORITIES.
NEXT, HE WILL OPEN OUR EYES TO THE TRUE NECESSITIES.
LASTLY, HE WILL EQUIP US & SEND US TO MEET THOSE NEEDS!"
"THERE IS A WORLD DESPERATELY IN NEED OF A SAVIOR!"
We keep telling them, 'GO RIGHT, BUT THEY KEEP GOING LEFT!"
Therefore, it's time to grab them by the hand & GENTLY steer them in the RIGHT direction!

PRAYER REQUEST

OK Men, we have been being built up in the Word now for several months, we've been encouraged, strengthened, and motivated. Now, it's time to intercede. A man at the Woodlands Outreach prayed to receive Christ, we witnessed demons being cast out of him that night. Now he is trying to abide in Christ and being attacked physically with Pneumonia, fever, and breathing problems, as well as being attacked spiritually by everyone around him. He is going on a job interview on Tuesday with Quad graphics as he desperately needs work. The people all around him are on drugs and drinking on a daily basis and attacking his new faith even calling him preacher boy. He is calling for discipleship. He is in the Word everyday and staying in prayer. We need to be in constant prayer for our new brother in the Lord. His name is Wenden. Along with prayer anyone wanting to be involved in personal discipleship please contact me as I will be going to his house visiting with him and taking him to the Church for fellowship.

Numbers 13:32-33
"And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, “The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.”"
"MISCONCEPTION IS CONTAGIOUS! THEREFORE, UPROOT IT!"
The Israelites' hearts failed them, because they had somehow misinterpreted God's Divine Message of Promise & Deliverance!
God was Giving them The Promise Land, but they felt they had to rely on their own abilities to obtain the victory.
DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE!
"GOD'S REALM IS THE 'FAITH REALM', SO WALK IN IT!"

Tree Climbers Unite

Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. He wanted to see who Jesus was, but being a short man he could not, because of the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way ~ Luke 19:1-4 ~
A tax collector in those days meant being a person that cheated people, lied, and took advantage of others. Being wealthy, or rather having a love of money, was probably worse as it kept people from seeing their need of God. Our sin keeps us from seeing God's truths. Like Zacchaeus we need to get above the crowds, the noise, & the distractions of life so we can get our eyes fixed on Jesus, as the only way to open our eyes to the truth is when we look at Him. Jesus said in John 14:6 "I am the way and the truth and the life..." Obviously climbing a tree is not going to work today, but getting alone and spending quiet time in prayer does. Need to see things clearly? Put your faith and trust in the Lord. Jesus said in John 12:44-46 “When a man believes in me, he does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me. When he looks at me, he sees the one who sent me. (God) I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness. (sin)
A little short sighted due to sin,  find a tree and fix your eyes on Jesus!

Heavenly Minded




You have probably heard the old expression "Don't be so heavenly minded that you are of no earthly good". While this may seem like a catchy phrase, it is an unbiblical one. As believers, we are to set our minds on the things above. Colossians 3:2 "Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth."

Heaven should be in our windshield, while earth is in our rear view mirror. Let's keep our eyes on Jesus, who is the author and finisher of our faith.
